Page two of three. If you just found this comic, it's mostly gag-a-day but there are some stories in here that should be read from the beginning. You can see them if you go to the archive. If you're a masochist, go to the first comic and see how bad they were when I was learning how to do this stuff.

I hope page three isn’t the tetanus shots…
…on the other hand, you’d find a way to make it fun!😃

Mom's a nurse, so the kids are current on their vaccinations. I had to look it up to see if tetanus shots were available back then. Yeah, they were.

Well, it was bound to happen...Touching the babies of a wild animal it's almost always a bad idea.

Hey, does that really work?! Just think, if these were modern kids they'd have been safe and sound in their bedrooms blissfully destroying their eye sight staring at tiny screens.
So I live in a condo complex. Came home from work one afternoon to discover a stunned pest control guy holding up and staring at a twisted and torn open metal cage. He told me that a moment earlier it held the biggest raccoon he'd ever seen. Those things are beasts when cornered!

Well, it works in the funny papers.
I have a friend who had two fairly large dogs. They thought they were badass until they cornered a raccoon in their back yard. I saw them a couple of days later. They were all scratched up and appeared to be much more humble.

I live in the country and raccoons don't fare well here. My neighbor has two border collies and they kill every raccoon they come across...and then bury them in our yard and everyone else's yard. There's nothing quite as lovely as finding the stinking, maggot covered corpse of a raccoon buried in a flower bed.

It is not tetanus I'm worried about. Raccoons are notorious for carrying rabies.
I don't know if today's rabies shots have improved, but in those days it was needle-into-the-stomach-wall.

So, anticipating part 3, the kids come back packing airguns and BB pistols and take care of the whole nest.
Doncha' just love a happy ending?

Actually, those kids have .22 caliber rifles like I played with as a kid. Yeah, really!

I was sometimes allowed to fire my dad's .22 rifle, but it was always strictly under his supervision. It was certainly a lot more pleasure than the brute force of a shotgun.
I'm not I'd have described it as playing-with, but it's a recreation thing, so it must be.

Bitten by a radioactive raccoon, how long until his powers start to show ? Right after the rabies shots ?
